This was created using construction methods from several examples of extant Jacks and pattered off of an example from the Royal Armories This was created using construction methods from several examples of extant Jacks and pattered off of an example from the Royal Armories (object number II. 27)

The Jack is made of heavy hemp canvas, coarse wool, and fine linen with additional canvas interlining.

All the seams are hand stitched with heavy waxed linen thread and the plates are stitched with hemp twine.

The Jack took approximately 1170 plates and 1000 feet of twine.

It weighs 25 lbs

This may seem like a lot but isn’t too far off from the originals which clock in around 18, 19, and 20 lbs and those examples are all much smaller than this.

the plates are 1.25” square with cropped corners
