Early 17th century English woman’s ensemble:
This is a personal kit meant to represent some of the basics of a woman’s wardrobe in the early 17th century. The outfit features canvas bodies interlined with buckram bound in leather. This is pointed to a wool petticoat. I have wool sleeves I can pin to my bodies or a waistcoat I can wear over. My waistcoat closes with 21 sets of handmade hooks and eyes set between the lining and fashion fabric. Everything is partially machine sewn with hand finishing in silk or linen thread.
